我最喜欢看书!

My entire life revolves around words. I teach Chinese, I translate, I do research on TCFL (teaching chinese as a foreign language). I read at work (yey! Some awesome work, I get to read while I do it).

When I'm not working or studying, I'm mostly reading. I read voraciously because it calms me down and helps me focus.

I read a lot in English because it's a language I feel very comfortable in. I find that English speaking authors know their craft very well. I don't read a lot of Spanish, because then I'm not chilling, I'm working to polish my own skills to translate and write into my native language.

I value well thought and worded literature. I dislike poor grammar, spelling mistakes and shabby writing skills. I am also against profanity and bad taste.

I am extremely strict and unforgiving when authors decide to pepper novels with random Spanish words. Up to now, I only credit Lois Duncan for getting it moderately right. Honestly, people, if you are out to impress us with your Spanish...then try hard and harder yet. Every time I read a Spanish word in an English fiction, I'm almost choking. Get it right, people, honestly, it's not that hard, please!

I'm always on the lookout for my next favorite author or book. I could write my autobiography just by jotting down the titles of works that have made a deep impression on me.

Even though I read a lot, I am extremely picky. I do not waste my time on genre that I don't like or on authors who aren't working on their craft.

I'm now reading biographies of singers and writing some notes on this topic here on Wattpadd.

I love Wattpad because it's so convenient and it allows me to both get to read interesting texts and to get to know the authors behind them. Never been too social or outgoing, but it's nice to find people that share your passion and to interact with them.
