@AliceDiamond So what you do is you look at a story and underneath the title, and above the summary will be a few words in gray. First, there's going to be a category, then a " #" sign, and then a ranking number. The higher you are, the better, because you get more visibility on this site. You maintain ranking numbers through votes, comments, and views. They change pretty fast too, so don't be surprised off you're #309 one day, and then the next you're not even rank. Only the first #999 top stories are ranked I believe. It might be a #1000, but I'm not completely sure on that count.
