I have liked science fiction all my life and am proud to say I'm old enough to have seen the original Star Wars in the movie theater when it was first released.  I'm also a huge fan of Star Trek.  As I grow older though I'm tending to lean more towards realism vs. fantasy or "corny".  Case-in-point, I loved the original Battlestar Galactic when it was on the air (and I was 10), but I absolutely loved the new BSG without the "corn" factor.  

So now I'm trying to write some sci-fi stuff that isn't too corny.  We'll see...
