오늘은 복스에게는 다른 날과 다름없이 평범한 아침이었다. 알레스터는 평소처럼 망할 지옥의 공주의 호텔에 머물러 있었고, 벨베트는 평소처럼 영상을 찍고 있었고, 벨렌티노는… 뭐… 평소에 하던 일을 하고 있었다… 
          
          복스는 매일 하던 것처럼, 아침 방송을 시작하려고 준비하는 중이었다.
          
          “엘레나! 내 망할 넥타이 어딨어?” 그가 소리쳤다
          
          “제임스! 이게 뭐야?! 넌 해고야! 당장 여기서 썩 꺼져!” 진짜 왜 이렇게 무능한거야… 라고 그는 생각했다.
          
          아침 방송에서, 복스는 자신의 회사의 신제품을 홍보했고, 이제 막 지옥에서 일어난 속보를 전하려는 참이었는데, 시민들을 감시하기 위해 만든 많은 티비 중에서 한 여성을 발견했다.
          
          그녀는 딱히 눈에 띄는 점은 없었다. 피부는 백지장처럼 하옜고, 머리는 검은색이었다. 하지만, 그녀의 새빨간 입술은 그를 유혹하는 것 같았고, 그는 당장 그녀의 몸을 느끼고 싶었다.
          
          “저기요… 사장님?” 한 직원이 그를 불렀고, 그는 다시 현실로 돌아왔다.
          
          “왜?” 복스는 그 직원한테 쏘아붙였다.
          
          “아…아니에요… 그… 한동안 가만히 스크린만 쳐다보고 계시길래….”
          
          “쳐다보든 말든, 내 맘이야. 몰라? 넌 지금 규칙 3을위반했어. 해고야.”
          
          남은 방송동안, 복스는 제대로 집중을 하지 못했다. 계속 아까 봤던 그 여자만 생각났고, 그 때문에 업무도 제대로 하지 못했다. (그리고 그것 때문에 직원들이 평소보다 많이 해고 되었다. 얼마나 많은 직원이 들어오고 해고되던지, 이제 복스테크에는 직원을 관리하는 사람도 따로 있었다…)
          
          업무는 다른 바보 에헴…직원한테 맡기고, 그는 회사의 지옥 감시방으로 갔다. 거기에서, 아까 봤던 여자를 찾았다. 티비 스크린을 몇 번 관찰한 후, 드디어 타겟을 찾았다.
          
          뜻 밖에도, 그녀는 다름아닌….
          
          알레스터와 대화를 나누고 있었다…
