@Lovely_Britss If something similar ever happened to you, I’m so sorry. I hope you don’t carry the same guilt Dana does—wondering if you pushed back hard enough. The way I wrote it... it probably came out like that because I’ve been there too. I’ve felt that weight. The aftermath. That voice in your head whispering, Did I do enough? Should I have fought harder? And honestly? That feeling still lingers. But life is about learning from what we’ve lived through. What I couldn’t control then, I can try to understand now. Healing doesn’t mean forgetting—it means letting go of the shame that was never mine to carry. It wasn’t my fault I didn’t know how to respond to something so violating. And I admire you for being strong. To have lived through something so cruel <3

Zayd will always have a special place in my heart too, but it’s been a few years since I was in that world, and right now I’m super deep into a new book (Six Months, One Room) that has a similar vibe. If you loved Zayd, there’s a good chance you’ll totally fall for Alex too :)
