I am a writer with an interest in the fantasy genre with strong feelings about morality, personal freedom, and the value of love & romance. 'Bittersweet' is a word that sums up much of my life views, but I hope to write stories that end with a sweeter aftertaste rather than a bitter one.
'Christopher Lansdowne' does not exist, the name is a pseudonym. However, under my birth name I have had several short stories in my youth. It is my hope that I might some day return with some regularity to writing, and towards that end I have signed up for this site. More recently, I have edited a full length novel by a friend that has been published.
While I try very hard to be objective, fair, and understanding, I do suffer heavily from both anxiety and depression. I will grow far more from positive encouragement than negative commentary. Thank you for your understanding.
The writers and books that have most influenced me are Charlotte Brontë (Jane Eyre), Patrick Rothfuss (The Name of the Wind, The Wise Man's Fear), Neil Gaiman (Neverwhere, The Graveyard Book), Charles De Lint (Dreams Underfoot, The Onion Girl),Guy Gavriel Kay (The Last Light of the Sun, Ysabel) C. J. Cherryh (The Gate of Ivrel, The Dreaming Tree), Michael Moorcock (The Weird of the White Wolf, Stormbringer), Lloyd Alexander (The Black Cauldron, The High King), Peter S. Beagle (The Last Unicorn), John Crowley (Little, Big), Edgar Rice Burroughs (A Princess of Mars), and Ernest Hemmingway (A Moveable Feast)
