Just a heads up that there might not be an update for a bit! A lot of my free time is being spent on prep for the upcoming year at the moment, but I’m not going away or anything! Give me a week or two to get the bulk out of the way, and I should be able to spend more time writing! Thanks!

LoYD Book 5 teaser time!
Don’t read if you want to avoid spoilers completely :p
The Hunters had dug pretty impressive fortifications for the time they were given. A double trench line, stretching across the lawn of Belvedere Castle, only stopping as they connected with the pond that stood between it and the Great Lawn. A couple fires smoldered off near the Reservoir, where the forces led by Prometheus were encamped. Thalia approached, her hair still drenched from earlier.
“They’ll be here soon. Are you sure…”
“Yes.” I replied, far more certainly than I actually was. “If they try to encircle us here, it buys time for everyone else.”
“And you probably all die. You’re forgetting that part.”
“Ignoring.” I retorted, staring at my feet for a moment. “Not forgetting.”
“Andromeda would tell you to stop being a moron.”
“Which is why I’m glad she’s not here. Now get going. I specifically forbade you and any of the Hunters from signing up for this. Artemis is one of the few gods that legitimately likes me, and I don’t need to be changing that.”
Thalia pursed her lips, her brow furrowing. “Make it out safe, alright? Prometheus is one of the reasonable ones, maybe he will let you negotiate something.”
I shrugged, trying to shove the immense feeling of dread further down. “Maybe.”

You good, bro? I hope everything is alright.

Might be a bit longer on the update. Nightreign is too good…
My teammates are awful though…

Just a quick update! I’ve not disappeared! I got a bit busy with some IRL stuff this week, but I should hopefully have some new chapters out by the end of the weekend. I’d like to promise tomorrow, but, well, Elden Ring Nightreign is coming out and I’ll probably be wrapped up in that for a day or two. Hope you all are doing well, especially those folks out there finishing up the school year!

I’m working on the next chapter of Énausma as we speak, but I decided that some of you folks might be interested in a list of some of my favorite works of fiction. All of these have had a massive impact on me in various ways, and while some are less accessible of a read than others (I’ll attach a warning to those), I really to recommend you give all of them a try:
A Canticle for Leibowitz; Saint Leibowitz and the Wild Horse Woman, by Walter Miller (My two favorite books of all time and my top recommendation.)
Paradise Lost, by John Milton
The Brut Chronicle (WARNING: No modern translation exists, but if you’re comfortable giving Middle English a try, I very much recommend it)
The Divine Comedy, by Dante Alighieri (Read the full thing, not just Inferno like most people do!)
The Aeneid, by Virgil (I am NOT stepping into the translation wars by suggesting a specific translation, look up a guide to the differences between translations online and pick the one you feel best fits you!)
Heart of Darkness, by Joseph Conrad
Blood Meridian, by Cormac McCarthy (WARNING: If you aren’t comfortable with a book where almost every major character involved is a horrifically evil person, this isn’t the book for you. If you are, though, it is a fascinating look at the nature of evil and the horrible, inhuman depths of cruelty that greed and selfishness can drive Man to. I would very much recommend reading with an interpretation guide on hand, as some parts can be extremely confusing.)
Finnegan’s Wake, by James Joyce (WARNING: Like everything Joyce wrote, it’s challenging. Even more so considering the, well, unique nature of it. But it’s in my opinion the pinnacle of Irish literature and, if nothing else, worth a try for novelty’s sake alone. I can at the very least guarantee that you will NEVER read anything like it again.)
A True Story, by Lucian (challenging, on account of being nearly 2000 years old, but worth it purely for being Roman era science fiction)

A couple more I couldn’t quite fit in:
Utopia, by Thomas More
The Pillars of the Earth, by Ken Follett
The Arcadia, by Philip Sidney (Both the Old Arcadia or the New Arcadia are good, look it up if you want to learn the difference and pick one!)
The Heptameron, by Margaret of Navarre

Was planning on writing again today to make up for my two week hiatus, but unfortunately my gf is rather sick at the moment, so I’ve been busy taking care of her! Will try to get another chapter out tomorrow!

Alright, so I’ve been thinking and I think writing two different PJO stories at the same time is definitely contributing to the struggle I’ve been having in making each feel unique. SO! I’m putting LoYD on temporary hold until I finish book 1 of Énausma. This means I’m going to start writing for my HP story again, and rotate back to LoYD in a couple weeks once Book 1 of Énausma is done. Ideally, this will let me have a more fresh mindset when I’m writing each story, and make them higher quality overall! I know this might be a bit disappointing for some folks, but I think this is the best option for long term quality and keeping up my motivation to keep to a schedule.
