An aspiring author in his 30s. I've learned a lot from fan fiction over the years, even if I don't agree with a lot of the trends it takes. These days I work mostly on my original fiction, but I still do this from time to time. I'm planning to put out a novella on e-book and a full novel down the line. Some of those original characters might make their way into these stories--they should be easy enough to spot.
