          It's a little sad, because I've been wanting to work on getting it officially published, but I want to see how this works out first!! My main goal right now isn't about getting paid; it's about getting my name out there and sharing my ideas with the world. That's the whole reason I published this on Wattpad in the first place. So, until The Watty's are over, the book will remain published on this account
          
          In the event that I actually win, the book will have to remain on my page for a year before I can actually publish it. If that were to happen, I would likely start a Patreon in order to get some support!
          
          And for the few people looking at my account who don't already know me, a warm greeting!! I'm Vex, and I'm a sixteen year old living in northeastern USA. I'm an aspiring author and planning on going to college to get a degree in creative writing. Any support and feedback helps!           It's... it's over guys... Chapter 26-Epilogue has been published now! After heavy revision and making final adjustments for perfection... I hope you all enjoy reading this book as much as I loved writing it!! The sequel will be coming out within the next few months, so be on the lookout for that!
          
          Also, I have good news!! My mother had a conversation with a former director of a local play that I have been a part of for many years now, and he gave some insight! Apparently, there is actually a fairly famous author living in my very small town. I knew about this before, but never really knew much about it. But, she loves to read and edit books that younger people write so that she can inspire and encourage young authors and help them get their books officially published. The former director is a good friend of this woman, and can easily get me in contact with her. I can send over a printed copy of my book and she'll proofread, edit, and help work with me to hopefully get it published one day!! SO LIKE THIS IS REALLY FUCKING EXCITING I'M SORRY BUT I'M LITERALLY SO HAPPY ABOUT THIS AAAAAAAAA
          
          One last thing!! I will be going back at some point to do a full-on proofread and revision on my own to make sure that connections are made and there aren't any accidental open ends to things. Basically just make sure that everything lines up. However, I move into college for the summer in literally 9 hours LMFAOO-- SO I SHOULD PROBABLY GET SOME SLEEP BEFORE THEN BUT I REALLY WANTED TO GET THIS PUBLISHED BEFORE I LEFT

— — —Ok so I officially have completed chapters 26, 27, 28, AND the epilogue. In fucking what 5 days?? Yeah. I've been staying up until 2am writing everyday LMFAOOO
          
          I'M SO EXCITED TO GET THIS DONE I'M JUST SO MMMMMM
          
          The whole purpose of the book was meant to be slightly controversial and political. The concept of powers in society can actually be taken as a metaphor for anything. I specifically used the idea of a superhuman society because it's not an exact situation that we currently deal with. But, the impacts, effects, and controversy that comes with it is very easy to compare with social issues today. Of course, throughout the book it's really just an undertone, as the main focus is trying to escape and survive. But think about it, the whole reason the main characters got into their situation is BECAUSE of the controversy with powers. And it isn't talked about enough throughout the book, so I really tried to tie it all together in the epilogue, along with introducing a new character! :D
          
          This new character is gonna end up being the main character in the sequel because yes, it is official, there will be a sequel. Still deciding on a title, but I'm thinking of something like "Alkali Blood: Ariella's Rise" because the plot of the book is how Ariella grows, starting from the epilogue of the first book all the way to the epilogue of the second book. Really this is just an excuse for me to develop her character a bit more LMFAOOO
          
          Anyway, I'm gonna go do some in depth editing for these chapters and then go ahead and publish them sometime tonight or tomorrow!! Have a great rest of your day/night/whatever time of day it is for you!! <33

— — —Just letting you guys know... I'm still writing chapter 26 and I'm thinking that it's the last chapter but... It's over 6,000 words already and I'm not even halfway done... Sooo should I split it up into smaller chapters, possibly get the book to 30 chapters, and maybe switch up the pov? Because right now the whole chapter is in Kat's pov so I was wondering if I should make new chapters with something maybe from Adurere's pov because he's fucking HILARIOUS to write in the perspective of and I've only done it once or twice soo yeah
          
          Also, I realized that once this book is over I'm gonna literally have nothing to do anymore. Like, I'm gonna be so bored. So uh... I made a plan for the epilogue where there may or may not be a cliffhanger/open-ended-ending SO THAT THERE IS ROOM FOR A SEQUEL IF I WANTED TO MAKE ONE BUT IT ALSO HAS A SATISFYING ENOUGH ENDING THAT I COULD LEAVE IT AS IS IF I DECIDED AGAINST A SEQUEL- SO YEAH- THAT'S HAPPENING-
          
          Yeah. This'll be a fun summer, lol. I'm also going to college over the summer (I move in on the 26th!), so I'll have this to be thinking about in my free time. Speaking of which, I'm hoping (fingers crossed) that I'll be able to finish this up before I move in. All I'm doing this week is packing and I have one more rehearsal for my play, then I have two shows on Friday and Saturday before I move in. So it'll be a busy weekend, but until then I'm basically doing nothing but writing!! I'm very excited to finish this up, like SO EXCITED YOU DON'T EVEN UNDERSTAND-

— — —Alright!! Chapter 25 has been republished! I edited a fairly large portion of it to tie up some loose ends since this is pretty much the end, sooo the chapter's like an extra 1000 words longer than it was before LMFAOO

— — —oK so I realize in the latest chapter it was a bit rushed (thanks Andrew) and I found a missed opportunity to explain the details of the war because I've noticed that I've mentioned the war and some effects from it but never really addressed why it happened, what happened afterwards, etc. and I feel like it is VERY important to the plot. The war was basically the setup for the entire book's setting and because I fucking SUCK at explaining setting I was hoping I could use the war as a stabilizer to keep the setting obvious and consistent
          
          And, well, I have the details of the war written in a Google Doc, but never found a good place to explain it in the book. So, that idea failed hard LMFAO
          
          But! I just discovered an opportunity to add in the details into the latest chapter in the form of a flashback and I'm super excited. That being said, the chapter will be unpublished until I can write in this scene, and will be republished at a later date. I will once again announce on here when the chapter is published
          
          I have no idea how long it'll take for me to write, but considering my 4 school projects that I should be working on instead of announcing this (lmao), my multiple after school commitments, and company coming over for a few days... It'll probably be between 3-8 days at least, it could be longer. Unless of course I say fuck it and continue to stall on my projects like I have been for the past week and get the chapter done for Saturday LMFAOO
