I am a long time fantasy and science fiction fan that usually gets their writing fix through Table-Top RPG storytelling. I am in my 20s and currently a student,  I have always taken satisfaction from creating settings and characters that can immerse other people and make them feel emotion. So here's to doing that without the crutch of having them be participating in that world.
