So true. Anything in our society that is creative never gets rewarded financially (remember I'm an artist too). My son is in film school and I've told him this would make a better movie than book and others agree (which is nothing against a good read) but it could be so vibrant as a film. I'm still working on him!!

That sounds promising! Good luck. I'd like to see it:)

It is a hard road but I think even harder the traditional way because you may never find someone to publish, if you do it will take about 3 years to be out, you get only 10% paid to author and you STILL have to do all the publicity yourself until you become a major seller.

Yeah, I hear you. I had a friend who published her New Adult book on Amazon Kindle Editions. She was pretty happy with it, but yes had to do alot of promoting. I've decided that writing is not a money-making endeavor so just try to enjoy the road, wherever it takes me. I'm glad I stumbled onto Wattpad. I do wonder how authors will make any money when electronic publishing means anyone can jump into the crowded marketplace, books are selling for 99 cents, or we give them away for free. Everyone is looking for a movie deal now (ironic roll of the eyes.)

Yes, I am an artist. I wrote this book several years ago and self-published. Those who have read it loved it but it is so hard to get the word out. I think this is a great way to get your name known. Since I'm writing a series it is taking a long time to get all my stories about the artifacts, etc figured out but it is coming along.

I think self-publishing is a hard road. At least this way, people get a chance to sample the book.
