Women are the most oppressed group in the world. 1 in 3 women worldwide experience sexual violence, every 3 hours a woman in South Africa is murdered. 90% of people have bias against women. 1/4 women have experienced domestic violence and 1/6 women have been stalked in their lifetime (and these are just the recorded numbers) 77% of domestic violence related homocides happen during separation. 2.4 billion women do not have equal economic opportunity and 178 countries maintain legal barriers. Every 10 minutes a woman is killed by her partner or family. There are 4.05 billion women, that is 49.7% of the population which means over one billion women have experienced sexual and/or physical violence, it could happen to your mother, your sister, your daughter, or even your friend, it could happen to any woman you know, but it shouldn't take that much for you to care. A woman is somebody. Spread awareness for violence against women no matter how simple, it could be as small as making your pfp purple or donating to places that work to bring change, or even spreading the word about what is happening to women all over the world. Don't be a bystander, help raise awareness.
