Hi, I'm John.  I am a former firefighter and EMT with about 17 years in the service.  My father a firefighter and a Fire chief so I guess when I gave up on traditional college and went to the Fire Academy, I was trying to get into the family business.  I left the service as a Captain due to suffering from PTSD and began to work in the private sector.
I'm currently going back to college to complete my Bachelor's Degree in Fire Science and Emergency Management.  But that's not the only thing I want to define me.  I've always been creative and I even acted when I was in high school.  I've been writing and working on a stand-up routine because I've always wanted to be a comedian, I've also always wanted to be a writer. 
I have a fascination with fantasy and horror in literature.  My two favorite authors are Steven King and Jim Butcher.   However, I hold a special place in my literary heart for the works of Douglas Adams and Neil Gaiman.   I have tried for years to finish a work of my own but on more than one occasion I find myself stuck with a story, or I have a point A and a point D but no clue what B and C are going to be so I give up.  I'm hoping to receive feedback here to help me complete my stories and present characters I've created and fallen in love with to the world like the authors and characters who have inspired me in my life.
