@Katherine_Miles10 escaping to greece was a joke, it's an on-going joke in teens in turkey. Leaving the country to live in europe is basically our only dream, and almost every Turkish teen are (quoting from my therapist) "hopeless" when it comes to their future. If you ask a Turkish teenager would they rather live in Turkey with any high-paying job or live in the Europe as a garbage man or waitress, they would chose to live in Europe. I would too.
As for the earthquake, it was in Balıkesir, I'm in Istanbul (possibly the worst place to be considering the entire city is on top of a faultline), and no way to get out of the city. One Marmaray Earthquake, you can say goodbye to Turkey, the 90% of the populution, power houses, economics, and such is directly tied to Istanbul, which is in the middle of the marmaray. 90% of Istanbul is getting rehoused to reinforce the homes but, just as expected, we took action way too late, and the big Marmaray Earthquake is right around the corner while people still say stuff like "it's just a manipulation tactic to scare us" when it's their lives. (Spoiler alert: Turkish people's grediness will make Satan look generous). As of now, I'm fine, I felt the earthquake but nothing happened. I hope nothing happens. I want to finish AT LEAST high school before I die. After all, I don't care, I'll better of dead than in Turkey with an university degree and no experience anyway.
