@Lisadholl I really don't understand the glam people see in New York, it is dirty and the the weather changes more then the moods of a pregnant lady! The fashion is quite nice, I guess but that's to be expected. And your little boy will just love it here! Central Park is a great place for kids and adults alike. Time square may not be ideal for him unless you have him on a tight leash.
