I grew up mostly on Long Island in New York where I attended Adelphi University, was the first African-American to play lacrosse there, and was the first African-American freshman class president. I studied Psychology and, after college, joined the Marine Corps. I served honorably and was named Marine of the Year for my base, Camp Butler, in Okinawa, Japan.

My writing is eclectic. I write about whatever inspires me in the moment, and make an effort to pay attention to my muse when I see, hear, taste, touch, or in any spiritual way, receive such inspiration. I am the author of two Poetry books, Poetry from a Wabi-Sabi Heart, and, My Angel, My Muse. I am also a contributing author to the Poetry anthology, Heart Whispers.

In 2016 I initiated an international collaborative poem called, Poets for Peace, that was subsequently published by Praxis Magazine Online, and archived at Stanford University as part of their digital collection, 100,000 Poets for Change.

I am working on my debut novel, a fantasy about a young Elemental Mage struggling to find his identity and purpose in a world where he feels out of place and misunderstood. The working title is, "The Reincarnation of Martin Luther King, Jr." I have a few other novels in various stages of completion including a children's book, The Harlem Globe Otter, and my poetry work on my blog, ThePoetryChannel.WordPress.com, is ongoing.
