My name is Rita. I have been writing fanfiction since I was old enough to hold a pencil, since before I even knew what that term meant and was just scrawling stories in my notebooks. For as long as I can remember, I have always loved telling stories, whether that be with characters that I loved or with those I have made up myself. I didn't start sharing my stories until I was in my early 20s. Until then, it had felt like an embarrassing hobby to be kept secret.

But when I found my fandoms, I felt like I had been set free. So many amazing writers and artists creating just for the love of it. And being part of this community has been incredible - I've made so many amazing friends. Fanfiction has given me the courage come out as bisexual and queer.

I love writing fanfiction about my favorite rock stars - particularly Iron Maiden and Led Zeppelin. And also gay pirates. I love gay pirates. But of course none of that would have happened if not for playing The Legend of Zelda when I was a kid, which instilled in me my love of fantasy and whimsy.

It feels good to have found my home here.
