This is probably the wrong audience to ask this of - if you wanted to read my book for free you would have read it while it was posted here - but…

I’m recruiting for ARC readers ahead of officially publishing Jude’s story for real. I’d be honoured if any of my Wattpad followers wanted to be part of the team!

Long post coming up…

I’ve been writing fiction for as long as I can remember. I must have written hundreds of stories since my very first one back in 1986 when I was four years old.

But it wasn’t until 2018 that I first shared anything I’d written. For some reason, I chose Wattpad as the place to share it.

I posted ‘The Reason I Exist’, which reached 20k reads before I took it down and replaced it with a reworked version, ‘The Reason Jude Exists’.

Today I’m also taking that down (If anyone is in the middle of reading it, sorry. Let me know).

          Why take it down?

          Because it is being published!

I never thought after so many years of writing for fun that I would ever publish something. But for some reason this particular story has stuck with me - I’ve not been able to get it out of my head since I originally wrote it six years ago.

I found an agent and a publisher but… they wanted me to change one fundamental thing about the story to make it more marketable. (For those who have read either of the versions, you can probably guess what the change was). That was a dealbreaker for me. I don’t care about it being marketable. I care about the story I wrote.

So I’ve decided to self publish it - I’d mentally gone too far down the publishing road to turn back. And after immersing myself in the indie publishing world I realised how exciting it is. I love being in control in all aspects of my life, and I’ll be able to control every single thing in relation to publishing this story.

Will anyone ever buy it given it isn’t marketable? Probably not.

Thank you to anyone who is still around who supported me since Jude and I made our debuts in the online writing world. If you want to keep up with my journey towards getting this story published, you can follow me on Threads:

@Norwood515 Woohoo, congrats! Not an easy decision, or an easy journey, but I'm so happy for you and wishing you all the best! Who knows, it might become a sleeper hit...

@domisotto Thank you so much. And for always being so supportive of all the writers on here. I’m sure I’ll never leave Wattpad as that’s where I was given the confidence to share my stories in the first place!

Too many great nineties songs, too few chapters to match them to!

Jude is forced to give Amy the only explanation that makes sense as to what he’s doing in 1997.

And why does it always share as a link rather than embed the chapter? What am I doing wrong?

You know I have a thing for our friend Jude. He’s such an easy guy to love for a complete basket case. Sigh… I’m gonna have to check this out.

If the answer is yes to any of the following extremely specific questions, then I might just have a story for you:

          - Want to read a time travel story?
          - Want to read a story set in the nineties with a nineties music playlist?
          - Want to read a story that is (finally!) finished offline so will have regular updates with no abandonment partway through?
          - Like correcting writers on their incorrect use of commas?
          - Read ‘The Reason Jude Exists’ and want to know the real reason why Amy kept sticking with Jude?

          Here you go:
