I kinda came up with this sort-of PJO headcanon about Katoptris. Idk if this would be considered a headcanon or just a theory but whatever. So maybe the reason why Katoptris is prophetic is because the handle is made of wood from the Grove of Dodona. Like Apollo's Shakespearean arrow. Except Apollo's arrow gives prophetic knowledge by talking in his head but Katoptris does it by showing images on the blade. And maybe the reason why Katoptris stopped showing stuff to Piper after she threw it into Enceladus's forehead is the same reason as why the Arrow of Dodona stopped working after it was used to stab Python in the eye (okay probably not but¯\_(ツ)_/¯)
