Hi, I'm Rayaan 👋

I'm a journalist who believes fiction is the best way to make sense of a chaotic world. 

I grew up in Chennai devouring Harry Potter,  Robert Langdon, Tintin, and Asterix - books that gave me permission to dream bigger than my middle-class reality. That love for stories eventually pulled me away from engineering and into the world of writing.

By day, I work in edtech, shaping content around AI, climate, and social impact. By night, I dive into speculative journalism fiction - a genre I'm building through my project, The Fiction Emailer.

So, what do I write here? Stories where journalists are the heroes. Think reporters investigating rogue gods, exposing steampunk conspiracies, or chasing truths across dystopian landscapes. It's myth, media, and mystery all rolled into one.

I write for readers who love fantasy and sci-fi but also crave sharp ideas about the world we live in - politics, power, democracy, climate, technology. If you enjoy Brandon Sanderson's world-building, Neil Gaiman's imagination, or Dan Brown's thrillers, you'll probably feel right at home here.
