Hi, I'm Seraphine, but you can call me Semi or Effy if you'd like to keep things casual. I'm 30, and my life pretty much revolves around writing, video editing, and getting lost in good books. Creative chaos is kind of my brand.
I create my stories the old-fashioned way, which is with time, effort, research, and far too many rewrites.
Any tools I use are strictly for the visual side of my videos, never for the writing itself. When it comes to the text, I rely on what every real writer has always relied on: craft, study, discipline, experience (yes, some of us actually have real experience with professional writing and publishing, shocking for some, I know), and the occasional meltdown over a paragraph that refuses to cooperate. Nothing more, nothing less.
And honestly, anyone who has even the faintest idea of what writing actually requires, structure, pacing, subtext, character work, can instantly recognize when something is authentic and crafted by a human.
It's always those who have no insight into the process who rush to make assumptions.
People are so accustomed to shortcuts and easy solutions these days that they can't imagine anyone still choosing to do the work the long, difficult, traditional way.
Projecting their own habits onto others doesn't make them right; it just shows they can't imagine anyone functioning beyond their own shortcuts. ;)
