As a little girl, I was obsessed with horror and science fiction. The literary wonders of Octavia Butler, Stephen King, Ray Bradbury, and Dean Koontz captured my heart when I could barely reach the top kitchen cabinets. These authors helped me disappear into worlds with horror that wasn't real (for the most part) to escape the everyday real horrors of my childhood. Reading horror and science-fiction at an early age led to writing those genres at an early age, which evolved into writing this book and short story at a not so early age. But my passion for these genres has never wavered in adulthood and my 12-year-old self would be very, very happy about that.

Fun facts: An identical twin; Cultured Magazine's writers' grant winner; a rapper and songwriter that has opened for Sting, Nas, The Prodigy, Justice, Queens of the Stone Age, and Erykah Badu to name a few; chosen as music winner by A-Tip from A Tribe Called Quest; 1st rapper to receive approval from Rodgers & Hammerstein Organization to write an original rap for the inimitable Sound of Music revamp soundtrack; and animated, along with my twin, into Princess Anna and Princess Elsa from the film Frozen II by Disney - which would also make my 12-year-old self very, very happy.
