Nice to meet you! I am Kanzashi (簪) - Producer & Director of Muramasa: The Tale of Ikedaya (池田屋物語)

Originating from Ōtsuka, Tokyo, I'm a creative who builds worlds with intention-where blades, spirits, and myth don't exist in isolation, but collide and evolve through culture, history, and imagination. I view storytelling as a bridge between reality and the "what if." My work is a synthesis of rigorous research and speculative fiction, focusing on how diverse cultures can collide and harmonize within fantasy landscapes.

I've been pursuing my Creative Writing & Storyboard Direction major(s) ever since 2019, sharpening my craft around character-driven storytelling, cinematic pacing, and lore that feels lived-in-not just invented. My work is deeply rooted in long-term cultural study, especially Far Eastern cultures and mythologies spanning Japan, China, Thailand, Korea, Vietnam, Indonesia, and the Philippines-from yokai and onmyōdō, to folklore, martial traditions, spiritual cosmologies, and regional legends that rarely get explored together with care.

Alongside that, I've dedicated study to African American historical studies, and wider diasporic and global mythic frameworks-including cultural and mythological traditions connected to Brazil, Nigeria, and Ethiopia. These research paths shape how I write power systems, kingdoms, rituals, and identity-without flattening cultures into aesthetics.

My mission with Muramasa (and everything I create) is cultural diversity with purpose: showing the possibilities of connection-how myths echo across oceans, how histories rhyme across continents, and how fantasy can become a bridge instead of a barrier.

I believe fiction is the best way to explore the possibilities of cultural connection. I write to find the "connective tissue" between these cultures-building fantasy worlds where diversity is the foundation of every miracle and every conflict. Stick around for stories where diversity isn't just a detail-it's the heartbeat.
