it’s literally been so long, thank you for letting me in your old discord server :) I still talk to zhen whom I met on there, which is pretty crazy. She saw me go through secondary, high school, then university; now seeing her start university is once again making me realise how such small and simple-minded choices in our youth can continue to bloom into such meaningful and long friendships. I know we haven’t spoken in ages and that you’ll probably not see this, but I just want to express my gratitude for the impact you’ve had on my life. Thank you for everything :) xoxo

Hello everyone, it's Mei.
          
          I've been debating about this for a while, but have finally decided to release the statement that I'm leaving Wattpad for an indefinite period of time.
          
          As the days blur and turn into months, I'm not sure if I myself have the willingness to keep on writing here. There's a feeling of freedom and unfulfillment all the same--I want to take a break, yet there are so many unfinished projects to handle. But, after a lot of thinking, I know that leaving is probably the best choice for me. 
          
          I want writing to be fun. It's a hobby, after all. I think that when it doesn't become fun anymore, and I start to sacrifice quality for quantity, it's not what I want writing to be. As I mature and as I grow, I want to be able to create something that I'm satisfied with, that I love and adore as much as my readers do. I'm afraid that Wattpad just isn't that outlet for me anymore.
          
          But please know that I love, appreciate, and cherish this little pocket of a community that I've built so, so much.
          
          Thank you for giving me a place to feel safe and loved, and thank you for enjoying my works every single step of the way. This experience wouldn't have been so enjoyable without you all and for that, I'm grateful. 
          
          To my friends who are still on here, thank you for all that you've done--every laugh, every cry, every moment of anger. It's helped me grow as a writer and a person. To the readers who have supported my writing journey, please know that every effort you put into loving and backing me up spurs me to continue to write and develop. There's a special energy that comes from knowing that some person, out there in the world, likes a work of mine enough to reach out and leave a little star or comment something nice.
          
          As the New Year approaches, perhaps it's a bit fitting to "shed" off an old shell and bloom into a new period of life. If you want to find me and continue reading what I write, I'll be at AO3 as @aidemint , the one and only.
