I'm starting to think that lettuce is more trouble than it's worth. I bought one the other day and and it was crawling with bugs. And I mean that literally; they were still alive, crawling about. Even if they weren't alive it wouldn't have been ideal. Rinsing dead insects off something you're about to eat doesn't do much to whet one's appetite. And besides, the pay off just isn't worth it. Lettuce doesn't add enough to a meal to merit the hassle of clearing it of corpses before serving.
So yeah, I don't think I'm going to bother with lettuce anymore.
And that's me, really.
