Why do people like roller coasters?
I ask that question every time I walk into an amusement park and my dear brother points up to the very tall, very twisty, very FRAGILE tracks of a roller coaster he decided to go on. My mom finds an excuse to stay behind while my dad says, "Cool. I'll take both kids up there." I always do a double take when he says BOTH KIDS.
One day I was at Disneyland with my friends and they say, "Let's go on a roller coaster!" That was the day that we went on every roller coaster in the park and I was in tears. There was serious discussion to buy me a "I survived space mountain" badge.
Now, we kinda got off topic here...
I think people like roller coasters because of the thrill they give off. They move at a seriously fast pace and if you are closing your eyes, they take you through so many twists and turns that you can't help but want to feel it again.
We shouldn't forget about the feelings of others either. Whenever I get in line, I can hear the screams of terror and excitement from the people on the ride perfectly well.
Personally, I think books are like that too. Good authors make sure that their stories have some sort of plot twist to keep their readers hooked. I also love how I can imagine myself as one of the characters in my books , going on adventures right beside them.
This reminds me of a discussion between two of my bookworm friends...
"Why do all these characters get to go on adventures when they are only 12 while I am over here at age 13 and living a completely normal life?" Friend 1 says wistfully.
"Because while we are reading the book, aren't we living the adventure too?" Friend 2 asks.
Now, please give my friend 2 a round of applause. She is quiet the genius and I am very proud to have the honor of being her friend. Yes Winston, I am talking about YOU.
Now, onto question #2: Why did Cinderella's slipper fall of? It was supposed to fit perfectly!!
There are many guesses such as-
Sorry guys, ran out of space.
