Okay!
So out of curiosity and hope, I bought one of the Paid Story Insights for Codename: The Rift.
Here are my thoughts, both the good, the bad, and the ugly---
1) It did come within 24 hours, so that is spot-on.
2) The first section is on Writing Style. As in the example, it shows their categories for style. Mine says Straightforward--which to them indicates that I write non-fiction or journalism. That, I have an issue with. Sentence length has nothing to do with any kind of pigeon-hole for types of writing. According to this report, I would need to advance to Advanced or LIterary writing style to win a Watty or be considered for publishing. Also as a reader of things besides Wattpad, patently untrue. That part is disappointing because I've read Watty winners that don't use huge sentences and that varies greatly in genre fic particularly. Adverbs usage section is dicey at best. My sentence are not long and descriptive enough, according to style--as if descriptiveness is only held in length--but I use too many descriptive words.
2) The next section is the Reading Accessibility. It says my story is accessible to 14 and up. Let me tell you, my story is even flagged mature and whether or not they CAN read it, they should NOT be telling me my story is good for readers of HARRY POTTER. (it literally says this). Enough said there. Again, this is about the sentence length--which is what happens when you use algorithms, not actual people to do this stuff.
3) Next is Reading Time. According to the bot doing this, Wattpad sweet spots are either much longer or much shorter than my chapter lengths and I should work to even that out. Please tell that to the tons of hug authors whose chapters are not uniform length or apparently take too long to read to be successful.
4) Lastly, it lets me know that if I make edits, I can pay AGAIN to have a new report where they tell me the new information.
I wanted this to be good. I did not want to be critical, but it isn't and I am.
