Hey, I am new to writing and don't have any writer friends so would like to make some , (especially older ppl as I'm in my 30s).I would really like some hardcore critiques so if you're the type to do that, go nuts. I still don't know how to use a semicolon. Honestly, how do they work? (No, really, help me!)

I like reading anything I haven't really seen before. 

My fav "real book" stuff is Cold War era speculative fiction and dystopias (please, no more hunger games clones). I really like oral histories, real ones or fiction. I like funny stuff. I like pop science stuff it's trendy to hate on like Malcom Gladwell. I really like john Birmingham but I have only read his broke depressed Aussie writer stuff, still have to read his war stuff.  

I struggle a bit with teen romance stories, sorry.  Fantasy isn't really my bit either, but I'll make exceptions.... Maybe. I prefer my prose on the beige side and fantasy can't seem to avoid wankery, so I avoid it Vampires, werewolves and the like can gtfo. Zombies are getting up there, too. 

I try to update at least once a week but sometimes twice if I'm not distracted by video games, sadness, or crushes.
