Hello! I've been seeing a lot of people criticizing Kasdeya's (Imitheos Series) weakness. And while I do enjoy you guys pointing out her flaws (because I've been waiting for ppl to hate on her lmao), I feel the need to say that Kasdeya being weak at the beginning is literally the point of the series.
As a writer, I'm also not interested in writing characters who instantly get a power-up at the start. Character development exists. Her progress will be slow. Imitheos is a 5-book series, mind you. The journey is still long. And if you think you don't have the patience to wait for my characters to progress naturally, that's fine. I know that my story isn't for everyone.
I'm not saying this because I dislike getting criticism for my stories. I actually like being criticized or even hated, including my characters. I feed off your negative emotions. This is just to give you a heads up that I write slow burn development and romance. Kasdeya is shallow, selfish, and insensitive. She grew up like that, and it will stick for a long time. Kasdeya is weak, and there is a reason for that.
I hope you understand that if I have to make the main character likeable and strong at the start of the series to make them digestible for the majority, then I wouldn't have written them at all. Losers are interesting to write.
