Alex walked down the hall, she couldn’t spare being late to class again. At this point she was almost 100% sure that the teachers purposely came up with things that would cause her to be late. She arrived just before the bell.
“Ah, Ms. Sen, chose to be on time today?” The teacher said mockingly, some of the other kids laughing silently at her, though most of the class just laughed out loud.
It wasn’t Alex’s fault, really. She had a condition that could sometimes cause her legs to stiffen up and make her collapse.
“Alright, morning announcements,” The teacher began, “First things first, your science projects have been graded by your teachers, and only one of you got an A, the others ranged from B+ to F. Second off, we have a new student, everyone please welcome Jessica Myers from Britain.”
Alex wasn’t going to lie, she was surprised when the person walked in. She was expecting a preppy spoiled girl who thought she deserved everything. But instead her expectations were met with a young boy, no older than she was. He seemed shy, like he was nervous.
“You can sit in the last seat next to Ms. Sen over there, young man,” The teacher pointed in my direction, and he nodded, “Now I apologize to alarm you so suddenly and early in the morning but you have a pop quiz I hope you studied.”
After school was done Jessica approached Alex.
“I’m Jessica Myers, but you can call me Jesse!”
“I’m Alex, but my full name is Alexander Sen.”
