I live in outback Australia where in summer it's bloody hot but as I write this short profile although it is nearly 40 degrees outside it is only 22 in the house. This is because we blow cool air into the house from underground. We live on top of an opal mine. When I get the urge to go down and work I usually lie down till the urge passes but if I strike colour, there's no stopping me!  Our house is totally solar powered with wind turbine back-up.  I have been a teacher in Australia, UK,India and China.I'm married but I won't tell you about that because you will not believe me. I love beautiful things especially opals, rubies, sapphires emeralds and diamonds. Oh, yes, and I love writing for kids.
