i hate it when people act so surprised when they find out that people with depression don't shower regularly. like they become hygiene freaks all of a sudden who 'can't even imagine going a full day without a shower :('. meanwhile they rely on ghost wipes and insufficient teeth-brushing techniques to keep two of their most bacteria-prone body parts "clean". bitch please.
also to feign disgust over depressed people not prioritizing hygiene above everything else (as if you do) is so ignorant and belittling, given the fact that people literally kill themselves due to their mental state. i think one would rather their friend or relative be dirty and alive rather than clean and dead. it also shows how privileged some of you are, because people literally don't even have WATER, nevermind fucking toothpaste and wet wipes.
and also, skipping a day is not a big deal. really, if you're not doing anything but lying around and relaxing or whatever, if you haven't done any physical activities that would cause your body to produce any type of bodily secretion, if you haven't been outside to have had the chance to pick up bacteria from the streets, etc. you can fucking skip a day. especially in winter. just how you don't wash your hands routinely, but rather when it gets dirty, it's the same with your hair, and same with your whole body.
