Simple yet so beautiful. Such a memorable song from the movie Once. My personal favourite.
Falling Slowly
I don't know you
But I want you
All the more for that
Words fall through me
And always fool me
And I can't react
And games that never amount
To more than they're meant
Will play themselves out
[Chorus:]
Take this sinking boat and point it home
We've still got time
Raise your hopeful voice, you have a choice
You'll make it now
Falling slowly, eyes that know me
And I can't go back
Moods that take me and erase me
And I'm painted black
You have suffered enough
And warred with yourself
It's time that you won
[Chorus:]
Take this sinking boat and point it home
We've still got time
Raise your hopeful voice, you have a choice
You've made it now
Falling slowly sing your melody
I'll sing it loud

Take a bow Mr William Ernest Henley. This continues to inspire all the aspiring poets. Thank you Amrita for making me read this one, again.
Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate,
I am the captain of my soul.

@kirtikumarpoojary it is certainly a stirring read. However I believe there are far too many forces at work in the world for anyone to truly be "Captain of their Soul"! Perhaps I read it wrong. We certainly do have a say over how we respond to circumstances. But to be captain of our souls? My experience is that I have entrusted my soul into the hands of He who has far more power and intelligence than any mere human and have found my soul to be safer there than in my poor weak trembling hands.

Been missing you my friend. Will take a look at Alone. Great if you could check out the new poems in Second Wind. There's one you might like about an Asian Elvis.
