so percy and grover have an empathy link which means that if one of them dies, so does the other, but satyrs are supposed to live twice as long as humans because they age half as fast (gleeson is 108 or whatever, grover’s like 24) and grover is definitely not halfway through his life, so grover is going to die early even if Percy dies of old age

i've been watching documentaries on north korea and for at least twelve hours and now i'm watching one on skinny mustache man and it's so interesting. like from a civilian propaganda and desensitization standpoint it's not only incredibly impressive on the part of the dictatorships (not that it was a good thing but ykwim) but also it's strikingly resemblant to a certain regime that's climbing in power right now. and these videos were mostly made years ago, so they weren't even meant to show any parallels (not that they'd have to try; they're there whether you try to highlight them or not) which just adds to the irony
