I just Google "The Band" an I learned a lot they talk about what an amazing base player he was an a kind soul. Is this maybe a true story?

@martykate1 I'm actually really old an I probably was because my music journey started in the 1960 I've been through so many music eras. If that's the name of the band I might check to see if I can find his music

Yeah, it is. People who knew him watched his self destructive lifestyle. The years of drugs and alcohol killed him. Just about everyone who knew him loved him and it still didn't save him, alas!
