I just Google "The Band" an I learned a lot they talk about what an amazing base player he was an a kind soul. Is this maybe a true story?

@martykate1 I'm actually really old an I probably was because my music journey started in the 1960 I've been through so many music eras. If that's the name of the band I might check to see if I can find his music

@martykate1 so sad an I know she's totally devastated   but I can't wait to read more about them and hopefully it's not to sad because I love a good love story especially when they're both totally devoted to each other.

Yeah, it is. People who knew him watched his self destructive lifestyle. The years of drugs and alcohol killed him. Just about everyone who knew him loved him  and it still didn't save him, alas!
