Well aren't these little bios just awkward? How many of us sit at the computer for long periods of time pondering the very best qualities of ourselves to pull out for display, while at the same time trying to appear humble? Oh sure, some of us say we don't care what other people think of us or our writing, but then again, why put ourselves and our carefully crafted work out there for all to see if not for the gratification of the proverbial "pat on the back", and satisfaction of seeing those numbers next to that little eyeball climb?
I know in my heart of hearts it's what I want, and am looking for. Although I want to build an audience, and hopefully an eventual fan base, most of all I want the help of critical eyes and genuine opinions. I crave not only the self-affirming boost of positive feedback, but also the stinging criticism of where I went wrong, and what I can do to improve. It is, after all, only through other's eyes that we can truly see the work that we hold so close to ourselves. I am also more than happy to read other's work and give honest feedback of my own, as well as share any "tricks of the trade" I may pick up while on my journey as a hopeful writer. Please be kind on length however, as I am the happily married father of four kids!
I look forward to reading other's work and receiving feedback on my own, and feel free to PM me for any critique exchanges or just to chat. As my profile states, my name's Mike. My favorite authors include Stephen King, Anne Mccaffery, and of course, George R.R. Martin!
Good luck in your writing my friends, and I look forward to getting to know you through your stories!
