YOU GUYS. I'm revising Hopeful Undertone.

Two and a half years ago while feeling blue, I watched a bunch of videos of Tyler and Josh being silly geese to try to cheer myself up. It was then that I had the WILD(ly embarrassing) idea to publish what folks in the biz call a "sweet YA romance" featuring Tyler Joseph to Wattpad, one chapter at a time.

I thought up a cute protagonist, and with the vague intention to send Tessa to camp, began writing.

It's no exaggeration to say that writing Hopeful Undertone completely revived my spirit that spring. I published a chapter every couple days, writing with an obsessive giddiness and a self-assurance that, honestly, I have yet to experience on any other project.

The thing is, it reads like it was written in six weeks by someone who mainly cared about getting Tyler and Tessa to kiss, because it totally was. So now I'm combing through it, chapter by chapter, tightening dialogue, smoothing out clunkiness, and polishing the high points where I can.

Of course, a novella-length bandfic is only ever gonna be so good. I realize that. But I still love what this story gave me, and I like the coziness of the world I created, and I know you do too, so I figured why not give it a bit of a makeover?

I'll be editing the chapters randomly over the next month or two, so feel free to check back whenever you have time. I'm also going to publish a flash fiction called Overcompensate that I wrote last year and never uploaded to Wattpad, so enjoy that as well.

What are you reading lately? And what should I write next?
