@kpopislifeu27 listen honey, we all are wrong in some ways and it's completely okay. I actually have a very positive view of Korea and i find a lot of similarities in our culture so i do understand where these things are coming from and i actually find Korea very inviting, not sugar coating anything though. Koreans are very hardworking and as some people point out that korean students are forced to get great scores in exams and like it's very pressurized towards academics, which is a very similar situation in India as well, because india and Korea have pretty similar histories as well, former colonies who sucked everything out their land and then a bloody partition which benefited others. This ultimately left us in ruins but couldn't just sit there and weep, So, our ancestors sought that, the most important way to get our nations back on track, is through gaining knowledge and then applying it in the right direction to propel the nation and their own respective families towards a better brighter future. That's why we have such a gruelling education system, our parents are always worried about our future, they want us to make a good living, but some people just turn a blind eye to that. And from what I concluded is that, (actually india too has an obsession for fair skin and all) during the colonial period, an inferiority complex was instilled within us by our colonisers, which still hampers our mindset till now, thus the extreme beauty standards. But please don't hate your motherland, don't hate your society, just based on what other irrelevant people say, some people are just ignorant towards others feeling and are quick to pass a judgement based on surface, without actually digging deep and knowing the root of matters. Korea came out from being a colony to a strong independent nation and YOU should be hella proud of that. That's your identity, so love yourself and say it with pride that "I'm a proud korean, sorry not sorry sucker"
