Hey, I was wondering if you knew what this story was? I can't remember the name but I remember the plot: An old lady invites a young girl to live with her in the city after the young girl lets the old lady stay in her house and takes care of her for a few months. The young girl is well tempered and befriends the old lady's granddaughter and they become bestfriends. The young girl then falls in love with the old lady's crippled grandson after a chance meeting under a tree.
          It finished with them confessing their love to each other in the rain I think?
          But I remember it was a Chinese story translated to English.
