April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. 
          
          Nearly half of women have experienced some form of sexual violence.
          More than 1 in 6 men have experienced some form of sexual violence.
          More than 1 in 5 women and 1 in 31 men have experienced attempted or completed r@pe in their lifetime.
          1 in 3 female victims and 1 in 4 male victims have experienced attempted or completed r@pe from ages 11-17.
          Approximately 1 in 5 girls and around 1 in 7 boys have experienced sexual violence in childhood.
          About 1 in 8 girls and 1 in 11 boys have experienced r@pe in childhood.
          
          Roughly 80-85% of r@pe is committed by someone the victim knows and is close with.
          
          Sexual assault and r@pe incidents happen everyday, everywhere, but only about 25% of it are reported to the police.
          
          42% of gay, lesbian, and bisexual students have been reported r@pe and sexual violence.
          
          Only 2% of r@pists are actually convicted and imprisoned.
          
          For individuals with mental disabilities , the chance of r@pe and sexual assault is two times greater.
          
          Always remember:
          "No"means NO
          "I don't know" or "I'm not sure" means NO
          Intoxicated of any sort means NO
          "I'm uncomfortable" means NO
          Hesitation means NO
          Being asleep means NO
          Silence means NO. 
          Asking until they finally say yes means NO.
          "I'm tired" means NO
          Being too young to understand means NO
          "Stop" means NO
          A choice of outfit is not consent
          Going for a walk at night is not consent 
          No matter who the person is, family, friend, co worker, coach, teacher, significant other, stranger, if you say no, then it's a NO.
          If you didn't give a full, conscious, clear "yes" than its a NO
          
          It should never be "protect you daughters or sons",
          instead, "educate your children" 
          
          These kind of incidents often occur at a young age, talk to your kids about whats safe and whats not. They are never too young when it comes to their safety.
