"The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever." (Isaiah 40:8)

My salvation story was not really extravagant. I once lived in the darkness - depressed and lost. October 2017 and I encountered Jesus through an elder woman from a local church who visited our house every Thursday to share Bible verses with my mother. I never sat with them but I listened behind closed doors.

It didn't take long and I decided to end my life, with a knife. But when I walked by the altar, I saw the Bible and my sister's Daily Bread. Something pushed me to pick it up and read it the next day. I slept, with the Bible and the Daily Bread beside me, and when I woke up, I read the VOTD in the Daily Bread before going over to read the whole passage in the Bible. And what struck me was the timing of the verse.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight." (Proverbs 3:5-6)

I read the whole chapter and it went even further, and the further I read, the more I saw myself - in my wretched state and the need for salvation. And so I went with the elder woman, who was more than happy to bring me along, to their church. There, I heard the gospel for the first time.

I was given hope and faith that nothing in this world could ever give. I became a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17). Now, I dedicate my time and words to writing about life and testimonies about the only One True God.

You will have hope. You will have life. In the Name of Jesus Christ. "If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved." (Romans 10:9-10)
