A new friend of mine introduced me to this site when he found out I am a writer.  I plan on using it for NaNoWriMo, so everything will be unedited; I will be figuring out the plot as I go along.  I usually am not brave enough to post completed works where people can read them, let alone works-in-progress.
I read mostly fantasy (various kinds) and some science fiction.  My favorite author as I was growing up was Tamora Pierce, though I was very into Harry Potter.  Tamora Pierce's novels are still my comfort books and I read them repeatedly.  Lois McMaster Bujold's Vorkosigan Saga is another favorite series of mine.  
As a writer, I love creating new characters and world building.
