Off the Hook's Origin Story.

Chapter 1: The Beginning

Two years after the last splatfest of In Inkopolis Plaza, in Pearl and Marina's Mansion.

Marina: Hi there, I am Marina and today I will be telling you about how me and my friend Pearl became Off the Hook.

Pearl: Yo!

Marina: Well let's begin.....

14 years ago in Pearl's point of view.

It was Inkopolis' First Annual Youth Folk Singing Contest and I was 7 year old. When it was my turn to go to the stage I was nervous so I just sang but it didn't go well.

Pearl: Boo-YAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was an ear splitting battle cry and everything was destroyed but lucky no one was hurt.

Judge 1: Sorry miss Pearl but you are disqualified.

Pearl: Sorry...

I got off the stage and headed home. A few weeks later, I have been improving my vocal cords in Mt. Nantai.

12 years later, 1 day after the events in Octo Valley. In Marina's POV.

It was my first day in the city of Inkopolis. I didn't have anywhere to go, so I just went to this place the squids called Mt. Nantai. While in Mt. Nantai, I noticed a strange type singing in the distance. I followed it until I came across a inkling girl but smaller than the others.

???: Hey who's there!

Marina: Um... hi I am Marina.

???: Oh you must be an Octoling from the ones that came yesterday.

Marina: Yes.

Pearl: Well, my name is Pearl, so what brings you here?

Marina: I don't have anywhere to go and I am kinda lost.

Pearl: I can be your tour guide.

Marina: Sure!

So, she started to show me around Inkopolis Plaza and introducing me to Inkling language, inkling culture, and ,my favorite of all, music.

Pearl: Well, that's everything in Inkopolis. Hope you make yourself at home and bye.

Marina: Bye.

Pearl left and I was still missing one thing, I need a place to sleep. I was thinking of contacting my old pal Agent 3, but I didn't knew where he lived. So I went back to Mt. Nantai to set camp.

Marina: Tomorrow I will try and get some money to get a place to stay, but now time to go to bed.

As I tried to fall asleep I watched the night sky with all the stars, a view that you couldn't see in Octo Valley
