Off the Hook's Origin Story.

Chapter 4: First Gig.

The next morning

I woke up ready for a new day to begin. I got out of the bed and started my computer to check if here were any gigs available.

Marina: Let's see....no....no...n- wait a minute!? Octarian Café in Inkopolis plaza?

There was a gig available at the Octarian Café located in Inkopolis plaza, which made me happy to see that the octolings at the Octarian Café were relocated to the plaza.

Marina: Guess they relocated, but should I sign us up for it.... sure, why not?

So, I signed me and Pearl and I went downstairs to make breakfast.

Later, in Pearl's POV.

I woke up to the smell of freshly baked pancakes, so I got out of bed, out of my room, and into the kitchen.

Pearl: Mhh, I smell pancakes here.

Marina: Hi Pearl, I made breakfast!

Pearl: Wow, I didn't know you could cook?

Marina: Oh, I don't know how to, I just watch some of these cooking videos in splattube.

Pearl: Understandable.

Marina: Here you go!

She handed me a plate of pancakes and I start eating.

Marina: Like them?

Pearl: HOLY-MOLY SWAMPA-MOLY, THIS IS DELICIOUS! 🤤 🤩

Marina: Well, I am glad you liked them 'cause today is a big day. ;)

Pearl: Why?

Marina: Well, I kinda signed us up for a gig.😅

Pearl: WUT?

Marina: Yeah, sorry for not telling you.

Pearl: It's ok, so where is it?

Marina: Well you see... where I come from there was this Café called "The Octarian Café", but with the octolings moving to Inkopolis the people at the Café relocated to the Plaza.

Pearl: Noice.

In Marina's POV.

You may be asking, "Why didn't you tell Pearl you come from Octo-Valley?" Well you see, at that time me and Pearl just met and I wasn't sure if Pearl was ready to learn the truth. So, after breakfast, we started getting ready for the show, we made sure we got everything ready: sound equipment, music equipment, costumes, EVERYTHING! So after some time we made our way to the Octarian Café for our first gig.

Some hours later in Pearl's POV.

It was like 12:00 pm and we got to the Café, we had to go to the back of the building to get on stage. When we got to the back there was an Octoling with headphones guarding the door. (A/N): That octoling with headphones is the same one from the Octarian Café in Octo-Valley.

Headphones-Octoling: Name?

Marina: We're "Off the Hook."

Headphones-Octoling: Nice to see you again Mar, right this way.

She letted us in and closed the door.

Pearl: Do you know her?

Marina: Yep.

I have to admit I was very nervous to get on the stage, but with Marina's equipment I was confident about it.

Headphones-Octoling: Hey, it's your turn.

Marina: Thanks.

Pearl: Ok, are you ready?

Marina: Positive.

We got ready for our cue to come out.

Announcer: LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! INKLINGS AND OCTOLINGS! SQUIDS AND OCTOPODES! For tonight's show we got "Off the Hook"!

It was our cue to go, so we got on stage and the crowd was kinda excited.

Marina: Hi everyone I am DJ HYPER-FRESH!

Pearl: And I am MC. PRINCESS!

Marina: For tonight, we will be singing our very own song called "Ebb and Flow", so hope you like it!

We started singing and the crowd was liking it. So, after some singing we were done and the crowd let out a roar of applause.

Marina: Thank you everyone, thank you, we are here all night, I give classes on Thursdays!

Pearl: ME TOO!

After the crowds support, we got on the backstage and we were relieved it went great.

Pearl: That went smoothly good.

Marina: No, no, no, it went GREAT!
