Chapter 2

Brooke hasn’t mentioned anything about what I said just before History… about Ben. It’s the only excuse that sprung to mind. She doesn’t look angry at me, she’s just acting like it never happened that’s all. I hope she doesn’t tell him because then he’ll tell the rest of the pack and it’ll get back to my dad who would literally kill me for even having an interest in one of them.

The three of us walk out of the school through the same black doors and down the steps to meet Charlie at his silver car which my father bought him.

“Who’s this?” Charlie points at Brooke with a puzzled look on his face.

“This is Brooke.” Blair says as she opens the passenger seat door.

“I didn’t know you had more than one friend.”

“Very funny.” Blair says sarcastically and climbs in the front seat.

“Follow me Brooke.” Charlie walks round to the backseat at the other side of the car and Brooke follows him, he opens the door and she gets in.

“Please control yourself Charlie, she’s dating someone.” I roll my eyes at him and his face turns into a smirk.

“What I’m not doing anything? And who is she dating?”

“Ugh what do you care?”

“I don’t care, I was just curious.”

“Well its Ben Harley.”

“Ben Harley as in…Ben Harley.” Charlie and Ben haven’t got the best history and it’s only them who know why, it’s like this giant secret that no one knows except them.

“Do you know any other Ben Harley? Didn’t think so.” I open the car door and get in the back seat next to Brooke, Charlie closely follows.

The car ride is awkwardly silent with little inputs of small talk from Charlie that no one really takes notice of. We pull up at the Edington’s house and get out of Charlie’s car.

“Oh my god this place is almost as big as yours.” Brooke gawks at the house with wide eyes.

“Yeah my dad bought it for them.” I shrug.

“I’d literally do anything to be a part of your family, you’re so lucky.”

The three of us look at each other instantly and look away even quicker to avoid suspicion. I wonder if she knew about… what I am, if she’d still talk to me. It’s scary to think about what’ll happen when it’s my time.
