"You what?" Brooke sits before me, open mouthed in reaction to what I've just told her about my feelings towards Hunter Carson.

"Please tell me that I'm delusional, that I'm being so unbelievably stupid." I wrap my arms around my body as if I was trying to squeeze these feelings out of me.

"Why? Clara, its Hunter Carson. It's normal to think he's gorgeous because believe me I do..." I snap her out of her trance.

"No Brooke, I mean I like him. Like as in, I think about him all the time and whenever I see him I get a weird feeling in my stomach." The words come out of my mouth before I can stop them.

"Butterflies?" Brooke giggles, she covers her mouth to try and contain herself.

"Yeah, maybe. Brooke you need to slap it out of me." An idea wipes over my mind, a stupid, stupid idea.

"What do you mean?" Brooke chuckles and shakes her head.

"Slap me." She doesn't even think for a second before her right hand collides with my face leaving a burning sensation on my left cheek.

"Ouch!" I squeal and grab my face as it nips and burns.

"You asked me too!" she defends her actions and she's completely right, why did I ever suggest this?

"I know."

"And how much do you like Hunter Carson on a scale of one to ten, go!" She shouts at me and I don't even hesitate before I answer.

"Seven..."

"Wrong answer." She says bluntly and slaps me again, this time it hurts a little less.

"Whoa! What the hell Brooke?" I hit her on the shoulder but I'd love to slap her back.

"I don't know, I just got caught up in the moment." She bites her lip and begins to laugh at my outraged expression.

"Yeah you're right, I needed that. This is so bad Brooke." I put my head in my hands and hit my palm against my forehead.

"Listen, if it's really that bad then just cut yourself off from him. Don't talk to him, don't even look at him." She snatches my phone out of my hands and begins to scroll through my contacts.

"Hey, Brooke do you want to give that back?" I try and prise the phone out of her hands but she stands up and moves away from me.

"You want to delete his contact from your phone." She shows me his contact up on my phone screen and hands the phone to me.

"No, Brooke I don't think I do."

"Yes you do."

I scroll to the bottom of his contact; 'delete contact', 'are you sure?' 'yes.'

"It's done." I whisper and chuck my phone down on her bed.

"Good."

Blair and I arrive at school. She's okay now. She woke up last night during dinner. Brooke was over, I told my parents that she knows everything now. They don't approve of her decision to continue to see Ben. It feels like the last two days were a distant memory, like I've not spoken to Hunter Carson since elementary school.

"I'm going to go find Hailey." Blair struts off in the direction of the track to find her other friend Hailey, another vampire. She's in Charlie's year and I'm pretty sure they have a thing going on. In fact I think they're together.

"Hey." Brooke comes up behind me and touches my shoulder. She's wearing a white cashmere sweater and blue skinny jeans, her hair cascades in dirty blonde curls down her chest. She's far more beautiful than me. I can understand why Ben likes her so much I was kidding myself thinking that Hunter would ever like anyone that looks like me anyway. Just as the thought crosses my mind Hunter walks in our direction with his 'pack' of four others. Ben, who stands directly to Hunter's left with a newfound confidence which has obviously came with the fact that he has an advantage over the rest of them. Brodie is standing a little behind Ben, he has jet black hair and piercing green eyes. He's the one that leads every girl on and then drops them without a trace. Kyle stands next to Brodie with his dark brown hair like Hunter's and his extremely gorgeous smile.
