I felt bad for our son, James, to hear us fighting. I mean he is only 3 and doesn't understand much so it must be confusing too.

Every few days we would start yelling, my husband maxi and I. At this point, I can't even remember what most times were for. It must have been stupid things like who's turn it was to load the dishwasher or turn on the washing machine.
I decided that today we would talk about the real reason we weren't getting along.

I slowly woke up to an already sunny day, and even though maxi and I still slept in the same bed, we no longer woke up tangled together and instead at opposite ends of the bed.

My mum was coming at around 9 this morning to pick up James so maxi and I could talk. I was even more nervous when they left.

"Hey Maxi?" I called through the nearly empty house,
"What?" He faintly replied
"I want to talk to you. Now. It's something important "
I heard the sound of feet walking down the stairs and when he joined me at the table, I took a deep breath,
"I think we can both agree this isn't good for our relationship or James' upbringing so I think it's time we talked"

"Okay, well I know how upset we both were when it happened-"

"Can't we just say when she died? She was a human too and I know it hurts but we have to face it" you stated, "we can't keep going like this; it's hurting our family"

"I just want it all to stop" he said tearing up,

"I know baby me too" I said embracing him and kissing his cheek, "is there anything I can do?"

"Well there is one thing..." maxi said looking up and smirking, knowing you knew what he was thinking,

"Well James isn't home now so I guess..." I smirked and put my forearms on his shoulders, bringing my body closer to his,

Whispering into my ear maxi said, "let's go"
