All was well in National City. The birds were chirping; Supergirl just rescued a cat from a tree.
A young scientist just made a new discovery in her lab.
In front of her sat two forms of kryptonite that held a strange pigment: pink K and red K. Unaware of the intentions of the stones, Lena was eager to try it on her favorite kryptonian.
She did not want to leave her discoveries untested in the lab. She also needed to figure out a way to put the stones into a way that Supergirl wouldn't assume that they were kryptonite. While also keeping in mind the impending clock that was ticking down by the minute for when she needed to meet Kara at the new restaurant in town.
Now how could I fit this stone into some tech that makes Supergirl be near to enable the effects? Lena thought to herself on this matter. A bracelet, a necklace, wrist watch, sunglasses, a ring, a belt, earings?
Settling on a necklace made from materials forged in her lab she placed 3 gems in a frame. A red jewel in the middle and a pink jewel on either side.
She'll show them to Kara first over dinner. She and Supergirl are close, surely she will know if she would like it.
After all Lena owed Kara a dinner for making her seem astounding in her most recent article, and she owed Supergirl a gift for saving her life again.
Once upstairs in her office, Lena called in Jess to fetch her a change of clothes as business attire wasn't fitting nor was lab clothes for the tone of the evening. Two special events in one evening with her two friends in national city called for a special outfit. A suit tailored to every square inch of her body. As well as a bracelet that held the same design as the necklace in the gift box.
After getting everything in order, Lena grabbed her clutch and called for a driver. This was going to be a good night.

Meanwhile in a small loft on the other side of the city, Kara was still trying to figure out what to wear. Clothes were scattered all about. Her options were limited to what she had narrowed it down to: a simple red dress or an eccentric blue, backless dress.
"Hey, Alex," Kara spoke into the phone.
"You are totally still trying to figure out what to wear on your date with Lena, aren't you?" Came from the speaker of the phone that was discarded on top of a high pile of clothes.
Kara dropped her current position of switching out both dresses and gave her phone a glare as if Alex could see her. "Um, yes, I am still trying to figure out what to wear. Wait, did you just say date? This is not a date. I'm just going out to eat at a fancy new restaurant with my best friend. How is that a date? I mean it's Lena we are talking about here. The brilliant and beautiful CEO of L-Corp. I couldn't get a date if I wanted to. She is way out of my league. Besides we are just friends, okay."
"Seriously, Kara. Way out of your league? You are Supergirl for crying out loud; how is she way out of your league? And I see the way you two look at each other, you can't deny it. But hey, whatever, what do you have out to choose from?"
Kara just shook her head flustered thinking about how maybe Lena might think this is a date if Alex did. She closed her eyes and pushed the thought away and looked back at her apearal. "Red dress and a blue dress."
"Director Danvers, the prisoner just woke up. You told me to notify you as soon as she did." Came another voice from the other side of the phone. That signaled Alex's departure. Kara panicked.
Kara then asked a million questions wanting to make sure that her dinner was the best place for her, "What prisoner? Do I need to come in? Do you need my help there?"
"No, Kar. Relax, I have this under control here. Now wear the blue, and go enjoy your date with Lena," Alex said hastily yet calmly.
"It's not a--" Alex ended the call. "date." Kara sighed and collapsed on her bed before putting on the dazzling blue dress.
