chapter 10🧙🏻‍♀️ the train ride/feast/classes

-(Y/N) P.O.V-
i was sitting alone in a compartment reading (y/f/b) when the door slid open.i looked up and saw a confused looking wood, "hey (y/n/n) i sent you letters. why didn't you respond?" "oh i never got the letters."

Did my mom hid my letters from me? i was thinking to myself when, "(y/n) what's going on?" "i got grounded over the summer so maybe my parents took my letters." i said thinking back to my horrible summer.

why would she hide them from me? i know i was grounded but still. i was deep in my thoughts once more till Oliver cleared his throat and i looked up at him, "(y/n) you look pale are you okay?" Oliver asked with concern in his voice, "uhhh yeah just thinking." "about what?" i froze should i tell him or not i mean he's my best friend, "just about the school year and making sure i know everything." i lie not wanting to tell him what happened, "uh huh okay." Oliver replied uncertain.

*time skip*

Fred and George had joined us in the compartment a little while ago. We just made it to Hogwarts when oliver came up behind me and put an arm around my shoulder, "so why'd you get grounded?" "because i'm not supposed to be playing quidditch." i said flatly "that's bullshit, are you sirius." "yeah-" i was starting to explain before he cut me off "well if you want to keep playing quidditch and if you don't want to go home during summer holiday you can always come to my house." i stared in disbelief "oliver i can't do that" he looked at me like i was dumb "yes you can."

*time skip again lol*

the feast was the same like it was the years before, i didn't eat much due to my summer so my appetite was small.

Dumbledore walked up to me, "miss/mr. (y/l/n) may i have a word with you?" "of course." i wonder what he wants to talk to me about? we walked up into his office, "please have a seat." i sat down, "excuse me professor but i can't help to wonder why you needed to talk to me?"  "well miss/mr (y/l/n), i'm very aware of what happened to you this summer however i cannot do much about the situation and i see you are very close with mr.wood and if i'm correct he has invited you to stay at his place this next summer."

wow he's smart or he just eavesdropped on our conversation. "yes sir but i don't know if i'll go i don't want to disturb his family." i fiddled with my thumbs, "i'll write to his parents and see if you can, i only wish the safety for my students." "oh thank you sir.".

-your dorm mates are sleeping-

I couldn't sleep after my conversation with Dumbledore. what would my mom do if she knew about olivers invitation to stay at his home for the summer break, would she even allowed it. what would my father think? would he be happy with the decision i make or will he get mad and hate me like my mom?

i decided to get some sleep in for tomorrows classes. i'll think about it more tomorrow i guess, and with that i was out like a light.

*timeskip to early morning*

i woke up to the sound of shattering and yelling to find all my friends asleep in their beds, and then it happened again. what in godrics name is going on? i slipped out of bed putting on my slippers to check out the noise coming the common room.

"hello" i said and it went quite huh? wonder what that was? wait what time is it? i walked back into my dorm and checked the clock on my bedside: it read 3:05am why in the hell am i up so early. i shrugged it off and went back to sleep.

*time skip to a reasonable time to wake up for school*

i woke up again this time to cleo shaking me to get ready for breakfast. i sat up and said to no one in particular, "did you guys hear that shattering and yelling this morning?" all of them looked at me strangely and shook their heads no. i shook it off once more and got ready.

we got to the great hall just as (h/o/h) (head of house) was passing out timetables for our classes. we first had DADA with Gryffindor, transfiguration with Ravenclaw, Charms with Gryffindor, Flying with Gryffindor and last potions with Slytherin. (guys/gals i'm a hufflepuff so work with me on the timetables😩 if you're a Ravenclaw/Slytherin replace with another house like Hufflepuff for potions and Slytherin/Ravenclaw for Transfiguration)

i headed off to DADA with professor qurriell (is that how you spell it idk) i grabbed a seat near the back as a mixture of (y/h/h) and Gryffindors poured into the class.

I was sitting alone till Oliver walked up "can i sit here?" "oh yeah." i began getting my stuff out to start class.

We were half way through class and me and Oliver were joking around the whole time till the door opened and professor mcgonagal walked in, "can i borrow wood for a second?" i looked at him "ooo your in trouble." i teased and he walked away.

A few minutes later a happy looking Oliver walked in and back over to our seat. i was very confused, "why are you so happy what happened?" "Harry potter is Gryffindors new seeker." my jaw dropped i had forgot that harry potter was a first year at Hogwarts seeing as i never actually have talked to him. "you serious." "dead serious." he said.

*time skip😸*

Harry Potter was the talk of the school being 'the youngest seeker in a century' and being 'the boy who lived' must be hard for him.

"Hey harry." i said walking up to him "oh hello-" "i'm sorry i'm (y/n) (y/l/n) i just wanted to congratulate you for getting on the Gryffindor team wood told me during class." "thank you (y/n)." he said politely. i waved and walked away.
