enechelon: Here's my Christmas gift to my lovely readers, this fic probably going to end in a few more parts. Upvotes and Comments! Happy holidays, be safe with loved ones. Sorry for any grammar mistakes. I'm not a writer but I love to write sometimes.
At 5:05 p.m.
Gawin: I'm going to be late
Gawin: Sorry
Gawin: *send a photo*
Gawin slipped his phone into his crossbody bag and zipped it. Underneath his metallic helmet, his eyes zeroed on the red traffic lights on the 3-way junction.
Bzzzzzzzzzzt....
Bzzzzzzzzzzt....
Bzzzzzzzzzzt....
Podd's mind alerted to the incoming notifications coming from his iPhone as it vibrated grittily against his table. Automatically, it pulled away his attention from her.
He had managed to bring his eyes quick for a glimpse and saw the flash of Gawin's name before the phone screen darkened up. His focus quickly went out into the drain and her voice was slowly fading, as if someone had lowered down the volume and rolled into a faint, background song.
Although she was sitting in front of him, beautifully dressed and her red matte lips continuously spoken up in interest.
Unfortunately, Podd's focus had fully diverted to his phone. His body angled more towards his iPhone rather than his coworker. Knowing Gawin had sent a photo for a first time intrigued Podd. His long fingers ached to hold the small device, swipe the password pattern and ceased his growing, twitching curiousity.
So Podd brought his gaze back to the gorgeous woman that knowingly being admired by his male colleagues and graced his infectious, charming smile.
"Alice, I think we should stop the discussion here and I agree with your suggestions." He leaned his head towards the table, rearranging his posture and crossed his fingers against each other.
The said woman glanced over her stainless steel watch that cuffed around her delicate wrist and wordlessly landed back her gaze at Podd.
"I'm totally on board that instead of, both of us choosing the right theme for the dinner, how about we collect the majority votes from the whole office." Podd added, cocked his head to his left.
She only nodded and unintentionally tucked a few strains of her hair behind her ear.
"You suggested A is Masquerade, B is Fairytale,"
"C is for Floral and D is for Others, in case none of them are up to their preference and they would like to suggest their own."
"Yes." "I think it seems to be fair for everyone." She voiced out solemnly, her hands crossed over her chest as she comfortably, bravely making eye contacts with Podd.
At that moment, Podd was being held back, momentarily paused, lost himself under her scrutinized gaze.
He realized maybe all the playful teases that had Eric shamelessly throwing at him, telling about her affection on him since before he dated Summer were probably false and nonexistent.
Podd felt stupid to be pondering that she really has that kind of feelings on him.
"I don't like to hear any complaints floating around behind my back and I want to do this right," Podd heard that and nodded in affirmation.
"Great, me too, Alice." "Me too." Podd clarified firmly.
"Boss has chosen us to be working on this together and we shouldn't disappoint him." Podd explained, understood what she wanted to imply and did not underestimate her capability for she is the Administrative Support Manager.
